Guideline for Paper Preparation

Proceedings of LINAC10 conference will be published at the JACoW web site.

The proceedings will be prepared electronically following the JACoW guidelines.

Authors are requested to submit the paper in PostScript format (and other original files following the JACoW standard) throuhg the LINAC10 SPMS server.

Submission deadline

24:00 JST (UTC+09) on September 10, 2010

Authors are requested to use the JACoW templates. The templates contain styles that, when applied, will automatically ensure correct typesetting and layout. In case of difficulties, please consult the JACoW electronic publication help pages.

Templates are available for Word, Open Office and LaTeX and can be downloaded from the web.

Authors are strongly advised to use the template that corresponds to the version of software they're using and do not transport the document across different platforms (e.g., Mac <-> PC) or across different versions of Word on the same platform.

Page limits

  • 5 pages for invited oral presentations
  • 3 pages for contributed oral and poster presentations

Paper submission

Authors are advised to submit their papers well before the deadline so that any problems can be analysed and then discussed with authors during the conference.

Prepare a PostScript file of the paper which conforms to the guidelines (LaTeX users please use the -j0 option with dvips - see the JACoW pages for help about preparing PostScript files). Check the size of the postscript file - an average size should be less than 3 MBytes. PostScript files which are larger than 5 MBytes often cause problems and will almost certainly require modification. If the PostScript file for the paper falls into this category, please consult the JACoW recommendations for diagnosis and remedies for large files.

Files should be named according to the paper's ID, e.g. for paper MOP001, file names should be:

  • - the PostScript file (File Type: PostScript File)
  • MOP001.doc - the WORD file if you use MS Word (File Type: Source File)
  • MOP001.tex - the LaTeX source file if you use LaTeX (File Type: Source File)
  • MOP001.odt - the Open Office file if you use Open Office (File Type: Sourse File)
  • MOP001f1.eps - EPS file containing figure 1 (File Type: Other Supporting Files)
  • MOP001f2.tif - TIFF file containing figure 2 (File Type: Other Supporting Files)
  • MOP00132.jpg - JPEG file containing figure 3 (File Type: Other Supporting Files)
  • etc.

Please note that paper submission has already been opened. Once the files are ready for submission, login to the LINAC10 SPMS server with your username and password, and then click on the "file upload" link. Your paper ID's are indicated in the "Paper ID" column, and the system will not accept files which do not conform to the naming convention. After choosing the adequate file type and platform, please select a file to be submitted. Clicking the "upload file" button, your file will be submitted and uploaded to the LINAC10 SPMS server. Please upload the PostScript file and all the source files (text and figures) needed to make the paper (be aware that large files may take some time to transfer).

Papers will undergo final processing by the Editorial Team from the deadline for submission, and authors can check the result via the log in to the LINAC10 SPMS server or by consulting the electronic status board at the conference.
